Design Crush, e15

Amazing find today, e15, is an amazing design company founded in 1995 in London by architect Philipp Mainzer, now operating in Germany. If I could afford it I would deck my whole place out in his amazing designs. Check them out and see what you think, the tray in the table in the top pic, is actually a try and comes esaliy off its stand, im smitten!

I want a sequin party dress …

this is probably the best dress ive seen in ages, its not "me" but i LOVE it, makes me want to go outside my square, so the search for a great party dress begins today...

this pic is from the selby doesnt she look like fun.

What I really want this Christmas is a little sequin party dress for a Christmas Eve party! It is a little hard to imagine that I have to share Christmas this year, my friends, boy’s friends, families, work ect… but if I mist be out and drinking, when I should be home eating cheese with mum and watching sappy Christmas movies, I want to be doing it in a great dress!

Leterpress&market stalls

details of these amazing Busnisess cards are on www.coroflot.com

I have always been a fan of “hand-made” but just lately, its printing that has caught my eye. Letter presses mostly.

I would really love to wake up in the morning, roll up my sleeves, feel the sun gleaming through my window and spend the whole day printing.

We have just applied for a great little apartment with two decent sized lounge areas, and my imagination is running wild at the thought of having a little home “office” in one of them, to do little craft projects in all day….

Sunday Market…

This Sunday I will be taking a break from my usual Shift at Diva Scandinavia to hold a Stall, at the Collectors market in the docklands, Melbourne.

I’m very excited and nervous, ill be selling vintage clothing, sunglasses and a few other home made goodies (well I hope ill be selling) either way if the weather holds up I think it will be a nice fun day (hopefully with some homemade lemonade.) it will be a good learning curve for me to see how everything goes!

wish me luck.

life is messy..

Or should i have titles this entry " my life is messy"? it seems at them moment i am slowly loosing my mind~ and them just as it looks like I'm finding it again... poof, there it goes again (oh, how i would love to know where it escapes to when it isn't in my head, where it should be?) so heres a recap of the past weeks happenings...

Spent an afternoon at Ikea (what fun , i cant tell you!) got lots of great stuff for the new place, and had an amazing lunch Cesar salad for lunch, although i really have to try the cafeteria at Ikea next time, it looks like lots of fun!

Spent Monday night at Federation Square (a place i love and should visit more often.) i sat in the sun for an hour and read food magazines white eating hot chips and gravy for dinner... it was bliss. i then took some of my old clothes to a frock swap at BMW Edge (the most amazing room in Melbourne, i am constantly in awe of it) and came home with some really great new stuff, i even got a great gift for a friend i know she will love.

while Tom was out busily finding us a place to live, i was enjoying my self at the Bloc part concert (read- gig, if you happen to be young and cool)last night, it was very good but a little quick. i felt very old tho, first i was worried about us being late, (although all the really cool people were very young, and late.) then i was worried about people spilling beer on me in the mosh... then i relaxed danced ALOT... and went straight home to bed (avoiding any after party's.) after all it was after 11 and i am getting quite old now..

Tom, thinks he has found us the perfect house, (i am following him blindly into this new love nest) , i have 100 visions floating around my head about what the perfect house would look like and how it will make me feel.... i don't know if any of these houses actually exist, but if they do someone very very lucky is living in them.

Sounds like fun, so why do i still feel cranky today?

cool kitchen

For those of you familiar with Joanna Goddard's blog a cup of Jo, you will know she has fantastic give aways on a Wednesday! (Thursday for us down here in oz) this week's give away was some super cute vintage puzzles from Esty shop sweetshorn's Sweetshorn, i had a peak around the shop and fell in love with this Hollywood martini set, it would look great with peonies on an old Danish dresser i have in my bedroom, when not being used for a rocking martini, that is!

I have been inspired by the fabric i brought for the lounge, i found these awesome vintage (read: old) light shades on eBay, and i think they will go perfectly, the colour tomes also bring me back to my perfect bathroom posted earlier, oh to have a "master" bathroom, heaven!

i will sew...

I really like the idea of re-using old fabrics rather then buying new ones.
hopefully they will make a lovely first lounge for the new place, very exciting, here's hoping i can sew!

The sewing machine arrives tomorrow, and then ill need to make a table top, but in the meantime this is some wonderful fabric i recently purchased from a lovely lady on eBay who has the most amazing vintage fabric linens.

Christmas List

And for my Man, these Aiaiai headphones, from notcot.com. I really love danish designs so simple and innovative, and these are no exception. They've thought of everything, even the packaging is carefully though out, it will make the perfect pencil case and the ends are great little pill boxes for added storage, i have only one word for this gift, perfect.

This new limited edition make-up bag by Erin Morris for Kit cosmetics is supper cute and absolutely perfect for a your favourite girlie girl. This year ill be giving one to my younger cousin along with some lip-gloss and other cuties from Bloom cosmetics. this talented Melbourne designer is currently studying at RMIT, but watch this space ladies and gentlemen, she is going to do some huge things, I'm sure.

This table I want just for me, i only wish our dollar wasn't so crap at the moment, i might have even managed to splash out for one myself, so if you are going to get yourself that perfect something this year, i suggest forgoing the great new shoes for this amazing table, you'll love all year round.

I love this tote from Thomas Paul, i think its the perfect gift for that great work mate you love or a sister-in law perhaps, but i have a friend who would adore this, i plan to fill it with a new diary and some beautiful pens.

mushrooms

This Large moss terrarium, from Esty Seller Made By Mavis, is great, so cute. I love the little Mushies hiding inside. this would look so great in my new place,( acutally i cant think of a place this wouldnt look great!) definently on my wish list.

Also from Roost this Cargo Mushroom Stool

I recently came across a great blog (c/o a cup of Jo - who else) it reminds me how much i love mushrooms! these Roost Porcelain Mushrooms are definitely going on my Christmas list, and before you ask, yes Santa, I've been very good all year.

Rainy Days

10 things I love about rainy days:

1.) The sound of the rain on the ground just as I'm waking up.

2.) Perfect excuse to rug up, eat popcorn and watch old corny movies while the rest of the world hurries off to work around me.

3.) Getting caught with-out an umbrella in the city - 100's of great places to wait out the storm with hot soups and chocolate.

4.) Heaters

5.) Cooking and comfort foods, some of the best are

home made breads, roast lunches, banana cakes.

6.) Pumpkin soup ~ so good it gets a spot all to its self.

7.) Awesome coats and dashing from the taxi to a great restaurant, warmed by log fires, you will soon find out food is at the core of all my favorite things.

8.) Tin roofs.

9.) Relief from the heat

10.) Waters plants and fills the rain tank!

The last two entries come from Tom, strange that he is assuming its summer rain and I'm dreaming of the chill of winter, he is an eternal optimist.

I found this photo on flicker today and LOVE these, i think its a great idea, i will keep you updated if i can every figure out where there from.(the update is slow and i must apologise for not mentioning earlier- still learning all the blog etiquette it seems.) but it comes to you from mirrorcities so please go forth and check out some other cool pics.

Moving: Part one, Bathrooms

I am really loving the idea of a black bathroom, these two from apartment therapy are great.

Sherry Walsh and Miguel Nelson’s Master Bathroom,
I love this space by marvimon

There are many things i absolutely hate about moving, leaving the familiar, packing, stuffing all my beloveds into ratty cardboard boxes, i could probably go on forever but, there is something I look forward to (besides waking up next to Tom every morning) and that is the prospect of decorating an entirely new space, so here are some of the things I've been inspired by thus far! (i just have too keep in mind i will be living in a shoe box.)

Morgane Le Fay

Just before i sign off on every thing cup orientated, i think these hats are very inspiring, i cant wait for next years carnival, i think ill be wearing a pink top hat!

I’am in love with Morgane Le Fay’s spring collection, I can’t believe I haven’t heard of this label before now, I stumbled across Ms. Casabal’s designs while aimlessly trolling the net this morning! Now all I have to do is fine someone who will ship to Australia, happy Melbourne Cup for tomorrow every one!
